Everyone’s routine is unique to their skin, age, and lifestyle. Consider these categories in customizing your own daily skincare routine:
Cleanse your skin with a cream, milk, micellar water, powder, oil, etc.
Apply a serum to address specific concerns or issues. Serums can include Vitamin C, retinol, hyaluronic acid, or a concentrate. You can also layer multiple serums.
Hydrate your skin with a moisturizer, even if you are oily or acneic,
Exfoliate to remove dead skin cells. Use a physical or chemical exfoliator as I mentioned in last week’s newsletter.
Apply an eye product.
This daily routine is a good place to start: Morning
Cleanse
Serum (Vitamin C)
Moisturizer (avoid your eye area)
Eye product
Sunscreen
Evening
Double cleanse
Serum of your choice
Moisturizer
Eye product
Weekly Exfoliate 2 to 3 times a week Over time, you’ll gravitate to a daily routine that’s just right for your skin’s daily needs. You can always add things like a toner or hydrating mist or essence and different kinds of cleansers depending on how your skin is feeling. Additionally, you can experiment with different serums or oils depending on the condition of your skin. And for a nice treat, add a face mask to heal, soothe, hydrate, or detoxify.
